Good Friday with Taize Singers

MUSIC SILENCE POETRY PRAYER
On Good Friday, the Taize Singers led by Christine Baines, brought a series of beautiful, moving chants to the 6 o’clock service, which the Reverend John Harley led in the Chapel.
The opening chant “Within our darkest Hour” took us to the grief and loss that Easter represents and the closing chant “For the Humanity and the Earth” reminded us how we all need help. The readings and prayers: The Migrant’s Prayer, from Matthew 26:39 and 42, Still (A Blessing for Good Friday) by Jan Richardson and The Lord’s Prayer translated from the Aramaic took us on the journey that ended with the blowing out of the chalice with the closing prayer as we said together “Let us go now in peace, uplifted, rested and with love in our hearts.”
