A Wonderful Family Wedding at the Chapel in the Garden
Lucy Hariades and Leo
Bradbury waiting in the foyer of the Chapel before their wedding. The guests have all arrived and they are about to process into the Chapel arm in arm.
The Chapel was packed, the service was led by Leo’s father, Reverend Dr Nicholas Bradbury, who celebrated the universalist nature of the Chapel.
Songs like Lord of the Dance and Lean on Me were part of the ceremony as was the Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 121.
Humorous poetry like The Orange by Wendy Cope was followed by a wonderful reading of Great Things by Thomas Hardy.
During the actual signing of the Register a marvellous song composed by Olivia and Bertie Playle was played, accompanied by themselves on accordion and
mandolin. ,
The Dorset element was picked up again when the Bride and groom left the Chapel to walk to Mercarto for the Bridal feast, and were led down the road by a melodeon player, Gavin.
