Wonderful Exhibition.
As part of the Bridport Town of Culture celebrations an exhibition of fabulous textiles is opening at the Chapel in the Garden on Friday 6th September. The Yellow room upstairs will be full of glorious patchworks, flags and banners. The banner created by Bridport women under the guidance of textile artist Rosemary Edwards for the Processions celebration in 2018 of will be hanging in the Chapel itself. Banners echoing the Greenham Common banners created by Maud Kilcznsky for “A Common Woman Reimagined” will also be on display.
Becca’s Fabric Larder has been a hive of activity during the past few months with stitching and sewing, creating wonderful flags and patchworks. On Friday 6th September from 2.30 to 6pm there will be music and a display of quilts on the Arts Centre’s forecourt. Beautiful hand crank machines will be there for the public to use to write a message to the world to add to other people’s. This will be ongoing throughout the fortnight.
